I know this post should of been posted a couple of days ago, but I thought it would be nice to reflect back a bit on what happen on that day! It was a tragic day for the whole nation and also a bit crazy for me as a new missionary setting out for the mission field. Well, that day I woke up around three in the morning, packing my bags and saying by to all the sisters I was able to meet at the mtc. I was already a ball of nerves knowing that it would take me about 18 hours to get to my destination, which was Guam! It was a Happy Reunion meeting my family at the airport. My mom made me my favorite spam and potato burrito knowing I would not have it for the whole 17 months I would be gone. And who would of guessed that JOJO (the person who took this pic) would be my sister in-law in the coming years. It now has been about seven years since this pic was taken. Well, back to my airport farewell. Well, our plane was the last plane that was able to leave before everyone was informed about the twin towers. My flight left at 6:30am and it was at 6:45am when they stopped all flights. We landed in Cali and all was crazy. It seemed like we were at boot camp. The army was there with their guns and whatnot. It was madness, but thankfully I had about ten other elders with me. We weren't informed about the twin towers until we landed, so when everyone on the plane found out, people were in shock and calling their loved ones. Well, I stayed in Cali for another week with the sister there. So I feel that I was lucky enough to serve in an English speaking area..lol I don't think I will ever forget about my Sept. 11th, experience, it was my first day tracking and actually being out in the mission field.

I remember being worried about you. Because when I left on my mission, i had no idea who was picking me up, where I was going ect. If I were to get stranded with a national disaster, I would be been lost. :) I'm glad the church is organized down to the one Sister Missionary going to Guam. :)
