Yesterday my poor little man burned a couple of his fingers. It was such a sad sight to see him cry in such discomfort. He accidentally fell on some hot coals while we were making our dutch oven dinner. Two of his fingers landed on the coals. He was not a happy boy. He clung to me for the remainder of the evening until the pain finally subsided. First we put his hands in some cold water and that relieved pretty much all the pain, but it was really messy and we really did not want him to spill the water in the house. So, we tried taping a cold pack on it, of course making sure it was wrapped with a cloth. That lasted about thirty minutes. He did not like the fact that something was attached to him. He still was in intense pain and I thought of resorting back to our first method with the cool water. But Josh mom remember she had a Aloe Vera plant and quickly clipped some off and put it on his fingers. I couldn't believe it, but after about a min or so his pain was much more bearable or simple gone, because he stopped crying. He was back to his old self within minutes. Now I want my own aloe vera plant! Tyler would not let me take a pic of his hand, but this morning before heading out to see the cows he let me take this one. I guess you can tell it's still freezing in the morning considering how many jackets he's wearing..lol!!
