Home Schooling

Taylor will be heading to kindergarden in August and I realized I am falling a bit behind on getting her ready for school. Now that we have been living with my brother and his girls, who are both in school; I got an idea of what she needs to know before going to school. Nat's boys are also in school and Kimball, who is being home schooled, is also getting ready for kindergarden. So, with all these resources being brought into the home, I thought I take advantage of it. So, I learned that she needs to be able to count to 100 in less than a minute, plus counting by 5's and 10's, and also being able to sound all her letters and reading. This is only but a small portion of what she needs to know. I felt a bit overwhelmed, but thanks to my sis, I was able to get Taylor on the right track. My sister has a awesome routine for her little boy. I figure I try to do the same. My sis set up a mini class room in the dining area! The kids love it and we do too!! Today, we learned to write the letter A and B. We also made puppets to help with the learning.

Here is Baby Bear and Alligator
Taytay proud of her accomplishments!

I love the mini-class room idea! I wish I had room in our house to do something like that. BTW-your dog is ADORABLE!

You had me fooled. I thought it really was a classroom. Those puppets look like fun. Good idea.
