Projects for Christmas 2012

So, for Christmas I usually like to sew or make something for the kiddos! Well, this year, these four pillows are all I could manage.  I sewed them for Joleen's girls! I saw them some where on pinterest and figure I take a shot at it. I did not buy a pattern, but tried my best! I really love how they turned out! I tried to make Indian girls for the two girls.  I think they are cute.  The next pillows, I tried to make cloud pillows, yeah, that one was not too successful!  I was happy to find cute fabric here at our local Walmart! Taylor helped me pick out the ribbons and helped me with some of the designs.  It was a fun project and hopefully the little girls love it just as much as we do.
Our family did not spend Christmas with JoJo's girls, so we weren't able to see their faces, but I hear they loved them! My initial plan was to make a teepee with these pillows, but I only got as far as buying the poles and string.  Josh helped me put holes into them.  I just need to sew the teepee cover! Hopefully, one of these days I'll feel up to it!
I really enjoy sewing.  My mom taught me all the basic fundamentals of sewing.  I would pick somehting I wanted to sew and I would ask her to help me.  It started with simple dresses for Taylor when she was about 8 months.  I remember making her tons of dresses for summer from one pattern. Once I mastered that I would pick another pattern and ask my mom how to do a certain stitch or fold.
I love sewing and still time to time I have to call my mom or wait until I see her to help me with my sewing.  Also, I still want to learn how to use a serger.  I haven't bought one yet or nor do I know how to work it, but that's one item on my to do list.
I enjoy my hobby and Taylor's has shown some interest in it as well.  She told grandma one time that she wanted to work at Walmart fabric department because she loves to cut fabric.  She told her that she loves watching me sew. My kids and others people's kids are the biggest reasons I love to sew.
